Day two

6 01 2012

Okay I’m conscious, just. Last night I turned in early and only managed one g&t. Very poor showing, but I did make inroads to the chocolate stash. I went to bed early to read, and thought I should go over Ruby Heart so I can refresh my mind to write the sequel. I’m propped up in bed with the ipad. Next thing you know I wake up (my snoring woke me) and realised I was still holding the ipad and hadn’t read beyond chapter one. I don’t think I’ve slept like that sitting up before and holding an ipad. It was then I realised that I was really tired and went to sleep. I was out till this morning.

I haven’t achieved anything much except some revisions to Dragon Wine yesterday and I’ve got a few things to do with Ruby Heart this morning.

This property continues to amaze. Last night I sucessfully identified kumara plants in Kylie’s garden. (They haven’t been here long). So I’m useful. We did the set up groceries yesterday mmmm quite a lot of money was spent. Roast lamb is $21.99 per kilo. Lucky that’s NZ dollars. Still!

Anyway off to do some writing. I think we have manipulated things so that Russell is cooking roast lamb for dinner. We are very clever around here.

Hey folks,
My writing thingo starts tonight. Haven’t sighted the Great Atwood yet, nor tried this island’s famous Key Lime pie, which you can apparently consume in both pie form as well as dipped in chocolate on a stick. Did meet a bunch of Hemmingway’s polydactyl cats at his house today though.

met William Gibson at the reception last night. And a bunch of other fine folks. Sighted the G. A. but was waaaaay too shy to say hello.

That sounds awesome. I lent Wiliam Gibson my pen when he was in Bristol. Good luck with the G.A. OMG! Donna
