A slow difficult day

12 01 2010

For some reason the words were hard to find today. I blame yesterday’s migraine for making my mind mush. I blame the ruination of my knitting on my lack of zeal. At least I am not the only one to find it hard today. Tomorrow the cleaner is coming so we have to go out in the morning and then in the afternoon Cat arrives.  Exciting!

It’s time to knock off at around four thousand words today and wait for Kylie to make homemade hamburgers. I think I’ll pick up my knitting. Officially I am 10,000 words behind my goal.

I could blame the heat but we had really good air con going most of the day.

The Null Day

12 01 2010

Yesterday morning started out slow, I knitted when I should have been writing, but I managed to add 2000 words to the story by revising the scenes I wrote the day before. Then I was up to the hard slog and I needed to walk around these great grounds and let more story worm its way out of me. I knitted a few more rows and looked at my knitting. It looked wrong. So I went for a walk. It was bright and sunny. I was a bit dazzled by the sun. Then when I came inside I was still dazzled by the sun. The bread had just been cooked and I was slicing left over lamb and then I knew it was a migraine. Bugger!

So I gulped down the sandwich, took some pills and hoped it would be a mild one and went to bed. It was more yucky than I expected and I only managed to get out of bed to eat dinner with the others before heading back to bed. I’ve a  migraine hungover today but if I don’t move around too much I can get some work done. Many thanks to Matthew for the head rubs, cups of tea, coffee, ice cream and other diverse favours.

The others watched Dr Who.
